Membership

Adult and Student Club Membership $650

Our Adult membership fee provides rowers the opportunity to go out in boats regularly September through May. Then over the winter months, we are able to participate in erg sessions and row in the weekends, as the weather permits.

Rowers have the option to represent the club at regattas. Participation in these events involves costs such as regatta fees, travel, accommodation, uniform purchases, and other incidental expenses. Additionally, some regattas require affiliation fees to Rowing New Zealand and Bay of Plenty Rowing. Attending regattas is not mandatory, and there are plenty of opportunities for local rowing if you prefer to stay within your membership budget.

For student rowers, the season starts in September and concludes after the Maadi Cup in late March. Most students participate in regattas. While fundraising efforts help subsidize costs, it is wise to budget approximately $2100 per season per child to cover club fees, affiliation fees, regattas, and camps. In a Maadi North Island year the total costs per child are expected to be closer to $3000.

We offer the option to split the membership fee, which is due on October 15. In this arrangement, $200 is due by October 15, another $200 by November 15, and the remaining $250 by December 15.

There is a Student discount of 10% is available for 2nd and any subsequent family members.

If you are a rower transfering to Taupō and want to join us during the year, we do pro-rata the membership fee to make it fair to join us at any time of the year.

Affiliate and Weekend Only Adult Rowers $325

For financial members of other clubs only, we offer the opportunity to row as an affiliate member on Lake Taupō. This is great for local children at boarding school, university students and those with second homes in Taupo. Affiliate members must be accompanied in a boat by full members, and have the same responsibilities to take care of equipment, which can only be used during club rowing times.

For busy parents and busy professionals who just cant make it out during the work week, come row with us on Saturday mornings and get some "me time".  We will be rowing on Saturday and sometimes on Sunday.  This option is available to new members only and is for people not wanting to race at regattas.

Visitors- Koha

Available for financial members of other clubs, we ask for a donation suggested at $10 per session. This is a way to help with the future of rowing in New Zealand. Visitors must be accompanied in a boat by full members and have the same responsibilities to take care of equipment.
