Membership

Adult and Student Membership $650

Our Adult membership fee provides rowers the opportunity to go out in boats September through May. Over the winter months we are able to participate 1-2 times a week in erg and row as the weather permits. For avid rowers who make the most of their rowing membership the average cost is approximately $3 per session. In contrast to most other sports, equipment purchases are not required.

Once proficient in rowing, rowers can consider representing the club at regattas. Regatta fees, associated travel, accommodation, uniform purchases and incidental costs will then apply. Certain regattas attract affiliation fees to Rowing New Zealand and Bay of Plenty Rowing. It is not required to go to regattas and there is a lot of rowing just to be done locally if this is what you want to do to stay within the budget of your membership fee. For student rowers most do compete at regattas - please contact our student team to get a run down on these costs.

We do offer the opportunity to split the membership fee which is due 15 October. In this case, $200 is due by 15 October with $200 due by 15 November and the balance of $250 due by 15 December.

There is a Student discount of 10% is available for 2nd and any subsequent family members.

If you are a rower transfering to Taupō and want to join us during the year we do pro-rata the fee to make it fair to join us at any time of the year.

Affiliate and Weekend Only Adult Rowers $325

For financial members of other clubs only, we offer the opportunity to row as an affiliate member on Lake Taupō. This is great for returning boarders, university students and those with second homes in Taupo. Affiliate members must be accompanied in a boat by full members, and have the same responsibilities to take care of equipment.

For busy parents and busy professionals who just cant make it out during the work week, come row with us on Saturday mornings and get some "me time".  We will be rowing on Saturday and sometimes on Sunday.  This option is available to new members only and is a good alternative when not wanting to race at regattas.

Visitor Donation

Available for financial members of other clubs, we ask for a donation suggested at $20 per session. This is a way to help with the future of rowing in New Zealand. Visitors must be accompanied in a boat by full members and have the same responsibilities to take care of equipment.
