Policies and Wellness

We understand that rowing encompasses far more than physical activity; it's a journey. The path of a rower isn't without its challenges. From the physical exertion to the mental demands of mastering technique, to balancing it all with work or with school, rowers often navigate a multitude of pressures. In 2024 we have the following club goals:

Communication: We encourage members to openly discuss their mental health challenges without fear of judgment. By fostering an environment of trust and support, we can create opportunities for personal growth and resilience, both on and off the water.

Education and Awareness: Our goal is to create a continuous conversation around prioritizing and educating our rowers and parents about mental health and its importance in the short and long term. This is a work in progress and we need your help at all levels of the club.

Supportive Community: Difficult conversations are easier when you know that you have the power of a supportive community. Whether through peers and professional resources. As club members, we are committed to standing together and supporting one another through both triumphs and struggles, both in rowing and in life.

Ensuring mental well-being of all members begins with adhering to the rules and policies established by our club. They serve to establish clear boundaries and promote a supportive environment.

Here are our Child Protection Policy, Code of Conduct (SW to update), our Safety Plan, and Mental health policy (DD to draft).
