2023 Youth Learn To Row

Our 2023 Learn to Row for our rangatahi begins 9 September at 8am. We will do an introduction during September and again in April - please register below now so that we can send further details.  There is no cost to be involved in the Youth Learn to Row.

Our student rowing program has been gaining in numbers and strength and we are keen to welcome more student rowers to the team. Involvement includes teaching the students how to row at regular on the water sessions and occasional camps, physical training on ergs and gym sessions, and competing at regattas.

From the shores of Lake Taupō to the waters of Mangakino, our next generation has been active in the lessons of rowing and the lessons of life - please see some images in the photo gallery below.  We are proud of their effort and amazed at their progress.

We'd like to thank firstly our families who support these amazing youth. We'd like to thank Sport Waikato for providing us with a stable and beautiful new boat, our first since 2006. Wai taratara, meaning rough waters, has increased the safety of our learn to row program and the confidence and comraderie of new rowers has grown exponentially.
