Fundraising Sucess!

The Taupō Rowing Club is both humbled and inspired by recent fundraising efforts. Our club hadn't had a new boat since 2006. Thanks to a Sport New Zealand grant, this new boat wai taratara (pictured above being set up for the first time) is a coastal quad which came with four new pairs of oars. Coastal quads are a bit more stable than typical racing boats making them great for our Learn to Row program and for use in rougher water conditions which occur later in the day. Sport New Zealand and Sport Waikato have been incredibly generous with us. A second new boat, a racing quad, will be arriving in late November.
